| Personal History | Born on March 27, 2368, to Jim and Kimberly, J.B. entered the foster care system at the tender age of 4 after his parents abandoned him due to financial difficulties and personal struggles. Growing up in a series of foster homes, J.B. found solace in his love for space and science fiction, finding escapism in the stars above. Despite the challenges he faced, J.B. was a bright and determined child, excelling in school and developing a keen interest in technology and engineering. At the age of 18, J.B. graduated as valedictorian from Indian Creek High School, where he received multiple scholarships for his academic achievements. Eager to make a difference, he initially pursued a career with the LAPD in hopes of serving and protecting his community. Unfortunately, his time at the police department was cut short due to two serious injuries sustained in the line of duty, forcing him to reevaluate his path. Undeterred by setbacks, J.B. decided to pursue his childhood dream of exploring space and purchased an old Excelsior Class Refit ship with his savings. He spent the next two years traversing the system as a freelance cargo pilot, navigating the dangers of space and offering his services for planetary defense when needed. This experience helped him hone his piloting skills and cemented his desire to join Starfleet, where he could explore the cosmos on a larger scale and contribute to interstellar peace. Upon enrolling at Starfleet Academy, J.B. threw himself into his studies, embracing the challenges of rigorous training and forging lifelong friendships with his fellow cadets. His dedication and natural aptitude for piloting earned him commendations from his instructors, and upon graduation, J.B. was assigned to a reconnaissance mission near the Romulan Neutral Zone. His exemplary performance and quick thinking in various high-pressure situations caught the attention of his superiors, eventually leading to his current posting on the USS Firebird. Throughout his journey, J.B. has been supported by his loving wife, Olivia, whom he met during his time at the Academy, and their daughter, Katie. Despite the demands of his career, J.B. always makes time for his family, cherishing the moments they share together. As he continues to serve on the USS Firebird, J.B. remains dedicated to his mission of exploration and discovery, eager to uncover the mysteries of the vast universe that lies before him. |
