Ambitions | Phoebe has no specific career goals beyond doing her job to the best of her ability while learning everything she possibly can. Personally, she longs to genuinely connect in some way to everyone she encounters because she sees everyone she encounters as a potential friend. She is also a hopeless romantic, dreaming of meeting "the one" - and when she falls in love, she falls hard. So far, while she has formed many deep friendships, "the one" has eluded her. | |
Hobbies & Interests | With a keen interest in trying anything once, Phoebe does have a few hobbies that have stood the test of time. She loves to garden, socialize, and play piano. She also enjoys exploring the hobbies of her new friends and shipmates. |
Personal History | In 2396, Phoebe was born to two Starfleet officers serving aboard the USS Minerva-A. Her mother Joanna was an engineer, and her father Daniel was the Chief Science Officer. A year later, they were joined by her baby brother, Scott. Tragically, the family would have little time together. When the Dominion War broke out, Phoebe and Scott were sent to live with their grandmother on Earth. During the conflict, the Minerva was lost. Left to care for her grandchildren, Elvira Baxter made sure they had a happy and loving childhood. She kept them safe and gave them free reign to pursue their interests. For Scott, this meant solitude and study. For Phoebe, this meant exploring the forest surrounding their home. Climbing every hill and wading through every creek, stopping to observe each new wonder that caught her eye. She became fascinated with every discovery, and found herself following in her father's footsteps... all the way to Starfleet Academy. If Elvira had any reservations about Phoebe joining the organization that had cost her son his life, she kept them to herself, giving her granddaughter only unwavering support. While Scott chose to study art and literature at a civilian university, Phoebe found the galaxy at her fingertips. The Science division was a natural fit, and she was pleased to find she could choose the path of generalist since her focus could never be given to just one or two specializations. Upon graduation, she found herself moving through a handful of assignments. Phoebe thoroughly enjoyed all of them but would occasionally request transfers in order to see what else she could experience. Her latest assignment aboard the USS Minerva-B had been the longest to date. Arranged by an Admiral who had known her parents, Phoebe was brought on as Assistant Chief Science Officer, with the intention of being promoted to Department Head as her father had been. While honored, Phoebe felt like this was almost a step backwards instead of forwards. She did not want to relive her past - she wanted to live her own future. Respectfully, she requested that when the time came that she had earned a promotion to Department Head, she would be transferred to a ship in need of one. |
