To Catch a Firebird

"Personal Log 2300 Hours, 24 March, 2394. Audio Only. Agent Stephens, Charles 3317" Charles sat at a corner table at some dive bar on Empok Nor. He had just gotten in the day before and was enjoying some downtime. "This is my first log in almost a year. It has been just a few days since getting back from the Delta Quad. I remember the day two years ago I was sent to Oberon. Being in the Delta just seemed off. Things tasted different, smelled different. It took me a good three months to really get that nagging feeling to go away. With as busy as I was with my front of leading training of enlisted its a wonder I found time to sit and smell and enjoy life. It was a big task I was given. I had infiltrated many smuggling, pirate, and even the Maquis units in my past. But infiltrating the organization I knew and loved was the hardest."

Charles watched as a couple Cardassians walked all the way past before speaking again. "The demands of running the training facility allowed me to get close to people, but in order to not blow my cover I had to keep up and do a competent job. After the removal of Commander T'sel I thought maybe they would bring me back, but they left me collecting intel and training the staff. I actually thought they would just leave me out there to retire. That was when Senior Chief Wilson came in the office to relieve me. I had no clue it was coming. I was so shocked I contacted my handler and was told I was being brought back and reassigned to the USS Firebird as the CoB. Why am I here? Like usual they had me reassigned and didn't give me a target or any idea why. So as I sit here sipping whiskey tonight I am left to wonder what tomorrow may bring. A new ship. A new crew. A new target.

A sleeper agent!

Fun background in the Delta Quadrant, and I like that he is probably on the Firebird for a reason he doesn't quite know yet.
