August Post of the Month

Posted on Tue Sep 25th, 2018 @ 10:25am by Captain Malcom Llwyedd

[WINNER]

War and Consequences ( 1st Lieutenant Jack Cunningham Jr & Lieutenant Cynfor Rees & Lieutenant Rhiana t'Aegis & Lieutenant JG Soto Gantt & Lieutenant JG )

"War and Consequences has my nom for outstanding post. It allowed very different viewpoints from several writers about difficult ideas, stayed afloat when it could have nosedived, threw in some humor, and has great potential to spawn more conversations between it's writers in the future"

"The writers managed to do the impossible in this day and age: discuss war in a way that includes believable viewpoints and soul-tugging observations from various ages, experience, and tragedies. (This is how Thanksgiving dinners and Facebook are supposed to go.)"

"A wonderful collaboration that was a nuanced conversation about a difficult subject. The tones of each character was true to them and the combination was an interesting melody. Well done!"

[Runners Up]

Disengagement (Petty Officer 3rd Class Fhiri & Petty Officer 3rd Class Gianna Djokovic)

"Fhiri and Gia, both, make this post great. Unexpected, light, impish. And we see that members of Starfleet aren't always the good ones. Some are more grey than others and that's what makes this post interesting."

Shuttle Training (Lieutenant Laree Desai & Lieutenant JG Soto Gantt)

"There were so many good choices for outstanding posts but my mind keeps coming back to "Shuttle Training" with Gantt and Desai. I really enjoyed this post and the fun descriptions of the maneuvers and the interactions with the ship and peering through the windows into life on the Firebird. I loved Desai's reactions to the thrills and Gantt's family stories. Good balls!"

Return to Osaka (Petty Officer 3rd Class Gianna Djokovic)

This was such a joy to read. The descriptions of the environment made you feel as you were there. The emotions over the loss of a friend. The thoughts about unstated possibilities. Especially given the circumstances of Savin's departure, more specifically the writer's departure, this was a wonderful way to remember the character unsullied by the real world

My congratulations to all of you!
